why are there not alot of asia [ chinese ] actors/actresses? HELP!?

i really want to become an actress in hollywood and i understand it takes alot of hard work and its not that easy but i notice there are not alot of chinese actresses and it just seems like it slims down my chance of making it big...

is it because they just dont like certain aspects of asians (not accusing them of being racist..)
or not alot of asians want to become actors?

Personally, I don't know too many Asian actors and actresses.

When I was in school for theater there were only two people in the entire department that were Asian and only one was an actress, the other was a stage technician.

Now that I'm putting myself out in the world of professional acting, I still have not come across a lot of Asian actors and actresses.

I think that maybe it has to do a lot with the sensibilities and ideas of the respective countries where they originated. For example in China, Japan and India there is a booming movie industry with tons of highly paid actors and actresses on par with those here in the States.

Not to mention that there is tons of competition here for acting roles and those that are big in the Asian "home" countries are already big there. When they make the leap here they seem to be pigeon holed into certain types of roles and movies. Examples, Jackie Chan always doing martial arts in his movies.

And perhaps here there are not a lot of Asian actors and actresses due to the fact that a lot of their parents came from overseas and want their children to pursue more stable careers in the sciences. Areas that seem to pushed a lot more in Asian countries than here.
