James Lee
Any information on james S Lee of The Willows, Redcar, Yorks UK 1935?
He wrote a strange book called 'The Underworld of the East'. When did he die? Who were his heirs?
I started by googling "Underworld of the East" and "James S. Lee" (just like that - in quotes) and found these two sites:-

In order to find out when he died, I started by trying to establish when he was born. The above site says he travelled around South East Asia from 1895 to 1910 and then wrote the book about his experiences 20 years later. I looked on freebmd and found a number of births indexed for James S Lee (it would help to narrow it down if we knew what the S stood for). If he was born in Redcar (or nearby), then the most likely birth entry is one in the March quarter of 1874 in Guisbro' district (in which the parish of Redcar is situated). This James Lee has the middle name of Sydney. This was the only birth registered in the likely time period in Yorkshire (volume 9d).
